ACTIVE INCREMENTAL × LOW-POLY 3D RAILWAY TYCOON
Build a railway from Liverpool to everywhere, in low-poly 3D, with prestige.
⏱ ABOUT 2½ HOURS · RUNS IN YOUR BROWSER · SAVES AUTOMATICALLY
From the Liverpool & Manchester line of 1830 to a high-speed empire from Penzance to Thurso — architected end to end by a neural network that has never once caught a train.
THE PROMPT THAT STARTED IT ALL 🧠
> Create me an active incremental/clicker game where you build a UK-wide railway network, which starts local. The game should take 2-3 hours to play, and include prestige. The game play should be full screen with a HUD, click railway stations to dispatch/repair trains or whatever until that’s automated. The game design is completely up to you. The game should be low poly, and include sound and music appropriate to the game.▌
That’s it. That’s the brief. Everything else — every line of code, every pixel, every note — came out of the machine. Typos preserved for authenticity.Disclosure: a human may have intervened afterwards, when the machine made the first upgrade cost more than the GDP of Wales, or decided a run should last eleven hours. Even then, the human only fixed it by typing more prompts and sighing loudly. 🫠
Albion Railways is an active incremental game about building a railway across the United Kingdom, played full screen on a low-poly 3D map. You start with the Liverpool & Manchester line of 1830. The goal is a high-speed network from Penzance to Thurso, with a ferry to Ulster.
Click stations to dispatch waiting trains, repair broken ones and sell tickets. Lay track town by town, pass Acts of Parliament to open eleven regions, and move through steam, diesel, electric and high speed. When progress slows, nationalise the railway and start again with heritage points that raise every fare for good.
Built in TypeScript with three.js. The music and sound effects were generated by AI too, naturally.
A quick guide for your first session. The machine wrote the game; we wrote this bit from its README.
You start in 1830 with the Liverpool & Manchester line. Click a station to dispatch its waiting trains, repair broken ones and sell tickets.
Trains that arrive earn fares for their passengers and the distance travelled.
Click a Build tag on a dashed line to lay track to the next town, and add trains to a line from the Network tab.
Pass Acts of Parliament to open new regions, and buy Works: ticket prices, carriages, posters, platforms and signalling.
Hire Station Masters and Maintenance Crews to do the clicking for you. Click the Royal Train’s station for a royal favour.
When progress slows, nationalise. You start again with heritage points that raise every fare and buy permanent perks.
These are real screenshots. Somehow these are the least AI-looking images on the site.
