3D CAT PARKOUR × TURF WAR
You’re a house cat with ambitions. Claim the neighbourhood the only way a cat knows how.
⏱ FIVE AREAS, GARDEN TO ROOFTOPS · RUNS IN YOUR BROWSER · SAVES AUTOMATICALLY
🧪 IN INCUBATION Still being prompted into shape. Expect rough edges, odd balance and the occasional existential crisis.
We asked for realistic cat movement. The machine built a skinned quadruped with inverse kinematics, a flexing spine in the gallop and the ability to knock mugs off ledges for style points. It understands cats better than we do. It understands cats better than cats do.
THE PROMPT THAT STARTED IT ALL 🧠
> Create a game where you're a cat, focus on realistic cat movement in a real world and it jumping etc. You wee on things to make them 'yours' make it fun like jet set radio and splatoon however, with a tutorial to start to explain it. You have full creative control.▌
That’s it. That’s the brief. Everything else — every line of code, every pixel, every note — came out of the machine. Typos preserved for authenticity.Disclosure: a human may have intervened afterwards, when the machine made the first upgrade cost more than the GDP of Wales, or decided a run should last eleven hours. Even then, the human only fixed it by typing more prompts and sighing loudly. 🫠
You are Mog, a house cat with ambitions, and the neighbourhood is up for grabs. Every cat crew in town is marking it, and if you haven’t weed on it, it isn’t yours. Claim five areas, from your own back garden to the rooftops at night, by out-marking the rival crews and taking every Big Mark landmark before the clock runs out.
It’s a 3D game with the camera low behind the cat, so a garden fence looks like a cliff. Mog walks, trots and gallops with real gait patterns, leaps with a paw marker for the easy jump or a held, steered leap for the big one, scrambles up edges and balances along fences. Galloping burns stamina, and a cat that runs out flops over, puffed out.
The rivals have names (Biscuit and his sister Custard next door), and you can face them down in yowling stand-offs. Knock mugs off ledges, sit in boxes, nap in sunbeams, roll in catnip, chase a laser dot and, when it all goes wrong, sit down and lick a paw as if you meant it. After each round the street’s group chat discusses your crimes, with photos. No cats were consulted, which they would tell you is an outrage.
A quick guide for your first session. The machine wrote the game; we wrote this bit from its README.
Start with the tutorial in Home Turf: sixteen short lessons that tick off as you do them. Pick a control scheme in Settings first if you like.
In the default Steer scheme, W or up goes forward, A and D turn, and S turns round. Tap Space for the easy leap to the paw marker, or hold it and release in the green for a big one.
Press E or Z to wee: stand still to lock on to a target, run to leave a trail, or wee mid-leap for an Air Wee. Drink at bowls, puddles and ponds to refill.
Tap R for scent vision to see whose marks are whose, and out-mark the rival crew before the clock runs out.
Meow at a rival with Q to start a stand-off, and yowl back just as the ring closes. Use F or X to swipe, knock things off ledges or rub round legs.
Back up to each Big Mark landmark, press wee and follow the arrows to claim it.
Every update below was also made by the machine. We just pressed Enter again.
These are real screenshots. Somehow these are the least AI-looking images on the site.
